God and Suffering
II Corinthians 1:3-7
I. Remember what God is to you (v.1-3).
1. Praise Him because He is God!!
2. Praise Him because He is the Father of our Lord Jesus....
3. Praise Him because He is the Father of mercies!!
4. Praise him because He relate to you as a father!!
5. Praise Him because He is the God of all comfort!!
II. God comforts you in your afflictions, so that you might be a testimony to others who are being afflicted (v.4).
1. The word afflictions means to be weighed down exceedingly; to be pressed and crushed!!
III. God matches the comfort to equal the suffering (v.5).
IV. God uses suffering to stir up other believers (v.6-7).
1. God uses suffering to stir consolation or comfort in others
2. God uses suffering to stir salvation (v.6 b).
3. God uses suffering to stir endurance (v.6 c).
4. God uses suffering to stir sharing among believers (v.7). |
